Dr. Evans uses qualitative and mixed methods to examine the determinants of health system performance and integrated care delivery. In particular, her work draws from multiple disciplines to direct attention to the often neglected contextual, social, and psychological factors influencing efforts to improve healthcare delivery. Her research has garnered awards from the Academy of Management, European Foundation for Management Development, Canadian Association of Health Services and Policy Research, and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. She is a former Scientist at Cancer Care Ontario and the Ontario Renal Network, where she conducted research on performance management and evaluated new models of care. She earned a PhD in Health Services Research with a specialization in Organization and Management from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Health Studies with Specialized Honours in Health Management from York University.
